The Rose and Crown Hotel in Colchester is the oldest Hotel in England's oldest recorded town and is situated within walking distance of Colchester Town Centre (15 mins).  The delightful charming 14th Century period building is situated in the East Gates area of the town and was originally a 14th century posting house.  It has been lovingly restored over the years to a modern day 3* Hotel, with 9 Executive rooms featuring flat screen LCD TV's, air conditioning, laptop charging, safes and high quality fixtures and furnishings.

Alternatively, choose from the traditional oak beamed rooms in the original house, or the more contemporary rooms in the main building. All rooms have an entertainment system and either Wi-Fi or Internet data port.
 
The award winning Oak Room Restaurant has been recently refurbished and offers casual dining in a contemporary setting. Have a pre-dinner drink in either the hotel lounge or enjoy the Tudor Bar/Brasserie with its more traditional foods and ales. The Tudor Bar is the oldest part of the building and is simply unique. Oak beamed walls a glorious log fire in the centre creating a warm friendly atmosphere. Serving Traditional fayre with a modern twist.
