MYRUBY’S ‘EGG’SELLENT ADVENTURE

MyRuby, a virtual PA and telephone answering service, has taken on the The Birkett Long £50 Challenge in aid of St Helena Hospice. They have come up with an ingenious way of raising as much money as possible for the cause which will see them incubate and hatch fertilised chicken eggs.
Each company taking part in the charity event has been given £50 to use in an apprentice style fashion to develop a fundraising scheme over a three month period. All profits that the participants generate will be given to the hospice, and there have already been some very innovative ideas. At the end of the challenge, there will be awards given for a variety of different achievements, including ‘Most Money Raised’ and ‘Most Innovate Idea’.
MyRuby wasted no time in bringing their plan to life, quite literally! The company used their £50 to purchase some fertilised chicken eggs and the soon-to-be chicks are currently incubating in the MyRuby office. There’s a sweepstake to see what egg will hatch first, while there’s the chance for people to submit names for the chicks. Once the chickens have all grown up they will then be sold on to new homes, with all proceeds from the sweepstakes, name submissions and sale of the chickens going towards the cause.
MyRuby are eagerly waiting for the first little chick to be born, and excitement in the office is mounting for the arrival of the small bundles of feathers.
Natalie Perillo, MD of MyRuby, said: “A lot of consideration went into what innovative scheme MyRuby would come up with for £50.00. We think our idea is totally unique, and we’re really looking forward to hearing the first cheeps coming from the incubator. We’ve already had a lot of names submitted and the sweepstakes is proving popular! Hopefully the MyRuby chickens will raise lots of funds for St Helena Hospice and we’re really eggcited to be taking part.”
