Cress Heads Fill a cleaned-out empty eggshell with damp cotton wool and sprinkle cress (or mustard) seeds on top. Draw a face on the eggshell so as the cress grows it looks like hair. Placing the eggshells in sunlight will help the cress to grow quicker. Sponge Painted Eggs
This is a really easy activity for ages 7 and over. What you need: Hard boiled eggs Acrylic craft paints Household sponge Paper Towel Bowl of water Empty egg carton Instructions Soak the sponge in water then ring it our completely. Cut the sponge in several pieces so that you have a piece for each colour. Using a paper plate as a palette, squeeze out the different colour paints. Place and empty egg carton upsidedown so that you can rest the painted eggs on it to dry. Hold an egg in your fingers and with the other hand, dab a sponge in the desired colour paint. Dab the sponge onto a piece of paper towel to remove excess paint. Now dab the sponge onto your egg, using any pattern you like. Once painted, stand the egg on the carton to dry. Repeat with as many eggs as you like using different colours. Try different effects, like painting the eggs a solid colour and when dry, sponging lightly with white paint or cutting the sponge into shapes like a heart or letters. Display eggs in egg cups or a bowl containing tissue paper that has been crumpled or cut into thin strips to look like grass. |
