Colchester Zoo is the place to be this Christmas for a magical way to celebrate Christmas with the children at the Magic of Christmas events  with the chance to meet Father Christmas and receive a free present (terms apply) as well as his real live reindeer.

Visit the Magic of Christmas events at Colchester Zoo on the 26th, 27th November, 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th and 17th until 24th December 2011 and see Santa himself arriving with all his friends to meet everyone in his enchanted Christmas grotto which is open between 9.30 and 16.00 each day and every paying child will get the chance to meet Santa and receive a present!

A range of additional entertainments are also provided included the opportunity to see the zoo staff pantomime, which this year is ‘The Great Nursery Rhyme Crime’ showing twice a day, and other festive activities throughout the day such as Santa's real, live, reindeer, elf tales, festive dancing with Rudolph, and much more.

If you come along to this spectacular event on the 26th, 27th November and the 10th, 11th December 2011 you will have the chance to visit Mother Christmas in the Enchanted Grotto when she makes her guest visits!
The Christmas joy doesn’t stop there, we are open until 9pm on the 23rd December for our Starlight late night opening which gives you the chance to enjoy all the Christmas illuminations as well as a host of extra events and feeds taking place which is guaranteed to boost your Christmas spirit!

11.00 - 16.00 - Santa’s post office - Post a guaranteed delivery letter straight to Santa and receive your own reply! (Minimum donation of £2 to Colchester Zoo's Action for the Wild) - Panning for Gold
11.00 - Mini Panto* – The Great Nursery Rhyme Crime! - Kalahari Theatre
11.30 - Elves tend Santa’s reindeer - Familiar Friends next to Wallaby Walkabout
